11.6. Couplings (the engine and a transmission are established in the car)

11.6.1. Removal

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

For coupling removal when the engine and a transmission are established in the car, it is necessary to use special tools, however it is possible to use and independently made tools. Before coupling removal attentively read this section.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At existence remove from the left forward wheel a cap, then weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel. Tighten the hand brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports. For improvement of access remove a wheel. On models with DOHC engines remove an engine mudguard.
2. Unscrew bolts and remove a protective plate from the basis of a case of coupling.
3. Unscrew a nut and remove the grounding tire from a transmission end face (see fig. Unscrewing of a nut of fastening of the tire of grounding).
4. Establish the corresponding container under a cover in a transmission end face, then unscrew bolts and uncover (see fig. Removal of a cover from a transmission end face). Note an arrangement of the bolt, grounding fixing the tire. For improvement of access remove a protective arch of a wheel.
5. Remove laying.
6. Using special flat-nose pliers, remove a lock ring from an end face of an entrance shaft.
7. Using a dvenadtsatigranny key, unscrew a bolt from an end face of an entrance shaft.
8. Take an entrance shaft from a nave of a disk of coupling. It is for this purpose recommended to use the No. KM special tools - 556 - 1-and and KM-556-4, but it is possible to use also the tools made independently (see fig. Independently made tool for extraction of an entrance shaft of a transmission from a nave of a disk of coupling). The tool fastens to a transmission end face bolts of fastening of a cover (see fig. Use of the tool made independently for moving of an entrance shaft of a transmission in a disk of coupling). The sizes of the tool should correspond to transmission type.
9. Alternatively screw in bolt М7 in an end face of an entrance shaft of a transmission and for a bolt take a shaft to the limiter. If the entrance shaft is established very densely in a transmission, for its extraction use an inertial hammer.
10. For removal of coupling it is necessary to move press a disk, overcoming resistance of a diafragmenny spring, otherwise coupling will not pass between a flywheel and an end face of a case of coupling.
11. For this purpose it is necessary to use the No. KM special tool 526-A. If necessary make a samostoyatel but the special tool of a steel strip according to fig. A clip established on press a disk of coupling. For simplification of installation of independently made tool at end faces of the tool make facets. The groove on one of edges of the tool is necessary for passing of a rivet of a press disk.
12. After pressing of a pedal of coupling by the assistant establish clips on edge of a casing of a press disk, inserting clips into apertures on casing perimeter (see fig. An arrangement of the clip established on press a disk of coupling). For uniform installation of clips on perimeter of a press disk of coupling, a wrench for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft, turn gradually cranked shaft.
13. After installation of all clips the assistant should release a coupling pedal.
14. Gradually and consistently weaken, and then unscrew completely six bolts of fastening of a leading part of coupling to a flywheel. For access to bolts of fastening of a leading part of coupling to a flywheel consistently turn a cranked shaft of the engine. Note on a flywheel an arrangement of the label which is combining with a groove on a case of coupling.
15. Moving down, take coupling knot from a coupling case (see fig. Removal of knot of coupling from a coupling case). Keep in mind that the frictional disk can drop out at coupling removal. Note an arrangement of a frictional disk of coupling. The smaller ledge of a nave should be directed to a flywheel.
16. For removal of clips fix a leading part of coupling in a vice with soft sponges.
