15.16. Back working brake cylinder

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At existence remove a wheel cap, then weaken bolts of fastening of a back wheel. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Remove a back wheel.
2. Release the hand brake.
3. Unscrew the screw of fastening of a brake drum and remove a brake drum. If the brake drum is kept by brake shoes, remove a cap from an opening in a brake board and, using a screw-driver, move a control lever of the hand brake to a brake shoe in order that brake shoes departed from a drum. If necessary weaken a tension of a cable of the hand brake.
4. Note an arrangement and, using flat-nose pliers, remove the top returnable spring compressing brake shoes. Remove the top ends of brake shoes from pistons of the working brake cylinder (see fig. Knot of a back brake).
5. For reduction of losses of brake liquid uncover a popolnitelny tank of brake system. Close a tank mouth polyethylene and again screw a cover. It is necessary in order that the cover tightly closed a popolnitelny tank.
6. Remove dirt round a place of connection of a brake tube to a back part of the working brake cylinder. Unscrew a connecting nut. Being careful, take a brake tube from the working brake cylinder and close it a stopper (see fig. Unscrewing of a nut of fastening of a brake tube to a back part of the working brake cylinder).
7. Unscrew two bolts of fastening of the working brake cylinder to a brake board and, being careful, remove the working brake cylinder.

Options of the working brake cylinder

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear a dust and dirt from the working brake cylinder.
2. Remove dustproof covers from each end of the brake cylinder.
3. Take both pistons with уплотнительны ми rings from the brake cylinder. Pistons are usually pushed out by pressure of a spring. Otherwise squeeze out pistons, submitting the compressed air under low pressure to an opening for supply of brake liquid.
4. Check a condition of pistons and the brake cylinder on wear, corrosion and other defects. In the presence of defects replace the working brake cylinder assembled. Keep in mind that it is possible to replace the brake cylinder established on earlier models with the brake cylinder which is established on later models.
5. Replace sealing rings irrespective of their condition. On models since 1992 L-shaped sealing rings of the piston (see fig. are established. Details of the back working brake cylinder, Options of the worker brake cylinder). Keep in mind that the repair kit of details of the brake cylinder of early type is not compatible to details of the modified brake cylinder.
6. Grease sealing rings of the piston with pure brake liquid and establish them in cylinders, having inserted between them a spring.
7. Dip pistons into pure brake liquid and establish them in the working brake cylinder.
8. Establish dustproof covers.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the working brake cylinder on a brake board and fix bolts.
2. Connect a brake tube to the working brake cylinder and fix a connecting nut.
3. Establish brake shoes on pistons of the brake cylinder and establish the top returnable spring.
4. Establish a brake drum and fix it the screw. If necessary, rotating a wheel of an adjusting level, take away brake shoes from a drum.
5. Remove polyethylene from a jellied mouth of a popolnitelny tank of brake system and pump over the corresponding brake contour.
6. Adjust a gap between brake shoes and a drum for what several times press a brake pedal. By pedal pressing at normal work of an adjusting level the clicks published by an adjusting level should be audible.
7. Establish a wheel and lower the car on the earth. Tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel the demanded moment.
