15.22. Hydraulic ABS modulator

Removal

The hydraulic ABS modulator with the removed cover
1–screws of fastening of a clip of a plait of wires;
2–grounding tire;

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. For reduction of losses of brake liquid uncover a popolnitelny tank of brake system, close a tank mouth polyethylene and again screw a cover. It is necessary in order that the cover tightly closed a popolnitelny tank.
3. Unscrew the screw and remove a plastic cover from the hydraulic modulator.
4. Unscrew two screws and remove from the modulator a clip of a plait of wires (see fig. The hydraulic ABS modulator with the removed cover).
5. Disconnect the electric socket from the modulator.
6. Unscrew connecting nuts and disconnect brake tubes from the modulator. Close the ends of tubes suitable jams and move them aside from the modulator, thus do not deform them.
7. Unscrew three nuts of fastening of the modulator (see fig. An arrangement of screws of fastening of the hydraulic ABS modulator), then raise and incline the modulator in order that it was possible to unscrew a nut, the fixing tire of grounding.
8. Unscrew a nut, the fixing tire of grounding, then take the hydraulic modulator from a motor compartment, thus do not spill brake liquid on a paint and varnish covering of the car.
9. If modulator replacement is made, remove from the old modulator two relays and establish them on the new modulator.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation check that the bolts, fixing a modulator arm to the panel of a body are reliably tightened and rubber pillows of the modulator are in a good condition.
2. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal taking into account the next moments.
3. Before installation of the modulator fix the grounding tire.
4. Remove polyethylene from a jellied mouth of a popolnitelny tank of brake system and pump over all hydraulic brake system.
5. Check that the control lamp of ABS dies away after engine start.
