GENERAL INFORMATION

Models with back drum-type brakes

The optimum gap between brake shoes and a brake drum is supported by the mechanism of automatic adjustment, however at long operation of the car the cable of the hand brake is stretched, therefore the course of the lever of the hand brake increases.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports.
2. Completely release the hand brake.
3. Turn an adjusting nut with a nozzle on a regulator of a cable of the hand brake which is established on a back beam so that brake shoes started to brake a brake drum at a provorachivaniye of a back wheel (see fig. An arrangement of an adjusting nut with a nozzle of a regulator of a cable of the hand brake on models with the SOHC engine).
4. Rotating an adjusting nut in the opposite direction, take away on insignificant distance brake shoes from a brake drum.
5. The hand brake should затормаживать back wheels when moving the lever of the hand brake on the second tooth of a ratchet.
6. After adjustment check that a cable of the hand brake move smoothly and without jammings. Put on a regulator carving a thin layer of greasing to protect it from corrosion.
7. Lower the car on the earth.

Models with back disk brakes

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At existence remove caps of wheels, then weaken bolts of fastening of back wheels. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Remove back wheels.
2. Move the lever of the hand brake on the second tooth of a ratchet.
3. On models with DOHC engines with the catalyst unscrew four nuts and remove the thermofilter of the central section of an exhaust system.
4. On models with the SOHC engine weaken an adjusting nut with a nozzle on a regulator of a cable of the hand brake established on a back beam.
5. On models with DOHC engines weaken a nut, fixing the jack of a cable of the hand brake to draft of the lever of the hand brake.
6. A screw-driver through an adjusting opening brake disks/naves (see fig. Screw-driver use for rotation of a wheel of an adjusting level on models with back disk brakes) turn a wheel of an adjusting level so that brake shoes started to brake a brake disk.
7. Turn a wheel of an adjusting level in the opposite direction in order that brake shoes departed on insignificant distance from brake disks/naves.
8. Make similar adjustment on the second back wheel.
9. Rotating, move a nut on a regulator or the jack of a cable of the hand brake to situation at which the hand brake will brake wheels. Check that the hand brake затормаживает at the same time two back wheels.
10. Completely lower the lever of the hand brake, then repeatedly it tighten.
11. Zatormazhivaniye of back wheels of the car should occur at a raising of the lever of the hand brake on the sixth tooth of a ratchet. If necessary, rotating a nut on a regulator or the jack of a cable of the hand brake, establish a nut in such situation that the zatormazhivaniye of back wheels occurred at a tightening of the lever of the hand brake on the sixth tooth of a ratchet.
12. At existence establish the thermofilter of an exhaust system.
13. Establish wheels and lower the car on the earth. Tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel the demanded moment.
