Removal

Use of a steel core for fixing of the mechanism of a tension in the taken-away situation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. On models with the amplifier of a steering remove a driving belt of the pump of the amplifier of a steering.
3. Remove a driving belt of the generator.
4. On C16 NZ2 1,8 and 2,0 engines of l disconnect the electric socket from the sensor of the index of temperature.
5. Release brackets of fixing or unscrew screws with six-sided heads and remove the main external casing of a gear belt, then disconnect a smaller casing from the water pump. On some models the basic external casing fastens three bolts to a back casing, and the fourth bolt the tension mechanism fixes also.
6. For release of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt turn the lever of the indicator of the mechanism of a tension clockwise before combination of openings in a basic plate and the lever and insert into an opening a steel core of the corresponding diameter (see fig. Use of a steel core for fixing of the mechanism of a tension in the taken-away situation). In this position of the mechanism of a tension it is possible to unscrew the mechanism of a tension or to remove a gear belt.
7. Check that the roller of the mechanism of a tension rotates smoothly and without jammings. Check, that on a roller there were no signs of wear or damages. If there is a suspicion that the mechanism of a tension is worn-out or the spring weakened, it is necessary to replace the tension mechanism assembled.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At installation of the mechanism of a tension check that the ledge of a basic plate of the mechanism of a tension was combined with an opening in the case of the oil pump, then screw up a bolt of the mechanism of a tension and take blocking core. Thus the mechanism of a tension should move freely.
2. Adjust a tension of a gear belt.

Tension of a gear belt

 


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. After removal of a gear belt or weakening of its tension it is necessary to adjust a belt tension only on the cold engine.
2. In case the gear belt and pulleys of a gear belt, and also the tension mechanism acted in film, check that the piston of the first cylinder is in VMT in a compression step. Temporarily establish a pulley of an auxiliary driving belt on a cranked shaft and fix it a bolt. Unscrew spark plugs in order that the cranked shaft was easily turned.
3. For simplification of turn of the water pump with demanded accuracy it is necessary to use a special key KM-421-A (see fig. Use of a special key for turn of the water pump at adjustment of a tension of a gear belt).
4. Establish a gear belt and check that labels on a pulley of a cranked shaft and a camshaft are combined with indexes (see fig. Combination of a label (And) on a pulley of a cranked shaft with the index on a back casing of a gear belt (In), Combination of a label (And) on a camshaft pulley with the index on a back casing of a gear belt (In)).
5. Pull a gear belt for what weaken three bolts of fastening of the water pump and turn the water pump clockwise until openings in the lever of the indicator of the mechanism of a tension and a basic plate will be combined. Thus the lever of the indicator of the mechanism of a tension will have possibility to move clockwise against the stop. Tighten bolts of fastening of the water pump so that the pump could not move.
6. A wrench for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft, smoothly turn a cranked shaft on two complete revolutions clockwise before combination of adjusting labels on pulleys with indexes. At a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft position of the water pump should not change.
7. Weaken a tension of a gear belt, turning the water pump counter-clockwise before such situation while the index of the indicator of the mechanism of a tension will not be established in the center of a groove of a basic plate. In this situation the tension of a gear belt is considered correctly adjusted (see fig. Tension of a gear belt). Tighten bolts of fastening of the water pump the demanded moment and turn a cranked shaft on two complete revolutions clockwise and repeatedly check a tension of a gear belt.
8. If the index was not combined with the center of a groove of a basic plate, repeatedly make adjustment of a tension of a gear belt.
