GENERAL INFORMATION

Elements of the automatic mechanism of a tension of a gear belt

And – combination of ledges on the water pump and the block of cylinders;
In – combination of the index of the mechanism of a tension with a groove in an arm;
1–For weakening of a tension of a gear belt turn the lever counter-clockwise;
2–For increase in a tension of a gear belt turn the lever clockwise


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On engines since 1993 the modified spring of the automatic mechanism of a tension of a gear belt (see fig. is established. Elements of the automatic mechanism of a tension of a gear belt). On a design the mechanism of a tension is similar earlier established, but operations on removal and installation differ.
2. The main casing of a gear belt fastens to a back casing spring brackets or screws, and in certain cases – both brackets, and screws.
3. For weakening of a tension of a gear belt weaken a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension, then insert the special tool into a groove on the lever of the mechanism of a tension and for the tool turn the lever of the mechanism of a tension before weakening of a tension of a gear belt. If necessary remove the mechanism of a tension and check its condition.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the tension mechanism on the engine and fix a bolt, without tightening it it is final.
2. Check that the ledge of the water pump is combined with a ledge on the block of cylinders. Otherwise weaken bolts of fastening of the water pump and turn the pump in such situation that ledges were combined. Tighten bolts of fastening of the water pump the demanded moment.
3. Establish a gear belt and отрегули руйте its tension.

Adjustment

Adjustment of a tension of a gear belt
1–index combination for a new belt;

2–index installation for a belt which was in the use, on 4 mm to the left from the groove center

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Weaken a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension and move the lever of the mechanism of a tension counter-clockwise against the stop to the limiter. Tighten a bolt of fastening to fix the tension mechanism in this situation.
2. Turn a cranked shaft of the engine on two complete revolutions in the direction of working rotation and check, that labels on a pulley of a cranked shaft and a camshaft were combined with indexes. Weaken a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension and turn the lever of the mechanism of a tension clockwise until the index will not be combined with cut in an arm of the mechanism of a tension. At installation of a new gear belt it some business hours will be earned extra. At installation of the belt which was in the use, establish the index approximately on 4 mm on the left from the groove center (see fig. Adjustment of a tension of a gear belt).
3. Tighten a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension. Turn a cranked shaft of the engine on 1 complete revolution in the direction of working rotation and check that adjusting labels on pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft were combined with indexes. Establish on the engine all remained earlier removed details.
4. After carrying out adjustment of a tension of a gear belt in the course of operation of the engine the tension of a gear belt will be automatically supported.
