2.18. Camshaft and camshaft case

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Removal of the case of a camshaft make on the cold engine. At installation of the case of a camshaft use new bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and hermetic.


Without removing the camshaft case a camshaft it is possible to remove from the engine only in the presence of the special tool for pressing of pushers of valves at camshaft extraction.

At camshaft removal with use of the special tool it is necessary to remove previously a gear belt and a camshaft pulley.

In the absence of the special tool it is necessary to remove the camshaft case. Because at removal of the case of a camshaft it is necessary to unscrew bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders, it is recommended to prepare new laying of a head of the block of cylinders.

Removal and installation of the case of a camshaft are a part of operation on removal of a head of the block of cylinders (see subsections 2.19, 2.20).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the distributor case from a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Remove the ignition distributor, and on l NZ2 1,8 and 2,0 C16 engines, using an edge of a thin screw-driver, remove a back sealing ring of a camshaft.
3. On engines with the carburetor remove the fuel pump.
4. Unscrew two bolts and remove a persistent plate of a camshaft (see fig. Arrangement of bolts of fastening of a persistent plate of a camshaft).
5. Take a camshaft from the left end face of the case of a camshaft (see fig. Camshaft extraction from the camshaft case on the engine of 2,0 l).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a condition of bearings in the camshaft case. Check, that openings for supply of oil to a camshaft were not blocked.
2. Check necks and cams distribute a telny shaft on wear.
3. Check a persistent plate of a camshaft on existence of wear and flutes and, if necessary, replace it.
4. At removal of a camshaft it is recommended to replace a forward sealing ring of a camshaft (see fig. Removal of a forward sealing ring of a camshaft on the engine of 2,0 l).

Tightening of bolts of fastening of a persistent plate of a camshaft on the engine of 2,0 l

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using a tubular opravka of the corresponding diameter, establish a forward sealing ring of a camshaft (see fig. Installation of a new forward sealing ring of a camshaft on the engine of 2,0 l).
2. On the NZ2 1,8 and 2,0 C16 models of l establish a new back sealing ring of a camshaft. On other models replace a sealing ring of the distributor of ignition (see fig. Installation of a new back sealing ring of a camshaft on the engine of 2,0 l).
3. Grease a camshaft, bearings of the case of a camshaft and working edges of a sealing ring with fresh engine oil. Being careful, establish a camshaft in the camshaft case.
4. Establish a persistent plate of a camshaft and fix it bolts. Check axial люфт a camshaft. If axial люфт a camshaft exceeds admissible limits, replace a persistent plate (see fig. A tightening of bolts of fastening of a persistent plate of a camshaft on the engine of 2,0 l).
5. Establish the fuel pump.
6. Establish the ignition distributor.
7. Establish the camshaft case.
8. At installation of a new camshaft observe the following mode of a running in:
— one minute at 2 000 rpm;
— one minute at 1 500 rpm;
— one minute at 3 000 rpm;
— one minute at 2 000 rpm.
9. At installation of a new camshaft do not change engine oil during run of the first 1 000 km.
