3.2. General information

GENERAL INFORMATION

Operations which are used for engine repair with two top camshafts (DOHC) are given in section 3. Subsection 3 is necessary for using together with section 2.

The block of cylinders and the details located in the block of cylinders of the DOHC engine generally are similar to the SOHC engine of 2,0 l. Difference is that pistons are attached to rods by piston fingers of floating type and the fixed lock rings.

Camshafts on DOHC engines are given from a cranked shaft by one gear belt. In each cylinder it is established on four valves (two inlet and two final) which are put in action from camshafts through hydraulic pushers. One camshaft is put in action inlet the valve, and another – final.

Models with DOHC engines have a separate oil radiator.

The distributor of ignition is put in action from a camshaft operating final valves.
