7.16. Fuel tank

Removal

SOHC MODELS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Removal of a fuel tank is made similarly, as well as on models with the carburetor taking into account the following differences:

– remove pressure in fuel system;
– on models with NZ C16 engines and Х16 SZ disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from a final collector;
– at removal of the fuel level sensor from a fuel tank remove only one hose;
– disconnect from the fuel pump a fuel hose and the electric socket;
– at removal of a belt of fastening of a fuel tank displace the fuel filter aside or completely remove it;
– one of hoses of supply of fuel incorporates to a pipe located sideways of a fuel tank.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Through a pipe of a toplivozalivny mouth pump out fuel from a fuel tank.
3. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports.
4. Open a cover of a toplivozalivny mouth of a fuel tank, then unscrew the lower part of rubber consolidation and unscrew the screw, fixing a pipe of a toplivozalivny mouth (see fig. Arrangement of the screw of fastening of a pipe of a toplivozalivny mouth).
5. Release drainage hoses from fastening brackets on the car bottom.
6. A jack through wooden whetstone support a fuel tank.
7. Unscrew the bolts, fixing belts of fastening of a fuel tank. Remove belts of fastening of a fuel tank, приопустите a fuel tank and disconnect from it hoses of supply of fuel, hoses of ventilation and the electric socket from the fuel level sensor (see fig. Arrangement of a bolt of fastening of a belt of a fuel tank).
8. Mark and disconnect fuel hoses from a fuel tank and the fuel level sensor. Close the ends of hoses suitable jams.
9. Lower a fuel tank down and take it from under the car.
10. Visually check a condition of a fuel tank outside. Using pure fuel, wash away a raid from internal walls of a fuel tank.
11. If in a fuel tank there is a deposit or water, remove the fuel level sensor and wash out a fuel tank a large amount of pure fuel. At existence on a fuel tank of mechanical damages restore a fuel tank in a specialized workshop or replace it.
Prevention

Do not restore a fuel tank independently with welding or soldering application as in a tank there are pairs of fuel which are explosive.


Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Check that all hoses are connected according to the marking put before removal.
2. To examine chains. If on plugs of a chain there are cracks, chips or considerable wear tracks, chains to replace.
